HUMPHREY INC. POSTS RECORD EARNINGS, REVENUES

SAN DIEGO, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Humphrey Inc. (NASDAQ: HUPH) today reported six months and second quarter results of operations.
For the six months ended June 30, 1993, there were record earnings of $731,121, or 73 cents a share, on record revenues of $13,177,184. This compares to the 1992 first six months loss of $87,848, or 9 cents a share, on total revenues of $9,609,990.
Second quarter operations for the three months ended June 30, 1993, resulted in new-high earnings of $402,283 on total revenues of $6,410,092, or 40 cents a share. The second quarter compares to a loss in the 1992 second quarter of $15,615 on total revenues of $4,107,616, or 2 cents a share.
There were 1,000,000 shares issued and outstanding for all periods.
Commenting on the dramatic earnings increase over the comparable year-earlier periods on revenues that amount to an increase of 37 percent in the six months and 56 percent in the second quarter, P.E. Humphrey, president and chairman of the board, comments, "It's the combination of product mix and good production -- volume is up and costs are down."
The direction of the company's business is still cautiously optimistic, since some of the missile and target drone programs are commencing stretch-out deliveries and lesser quantities. The Hellfire and Paveway III programs are continuing for several years and international programs are imminent.
The company's backlog is currently about $20.5 million.
Humphrey Inc. is a leading supplier of gyroscopes and electromechanical devices to the aerospace and defense industries with sales and representation worldwide.
