HUMAN EVENTS JOINS EAGLE PUBLISHING, INC.

WASHINGTON, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Human Events, the nation's only conservative weekly newspaper, has joined forces with Eagle Publishing, Inc.
The announcement was made jointly today by Jeffrey J. Carneal, president of Eagle Publishing, Inc., and Thomas S. Winter and Allan H. Ryskind, editors of Human Events. Winter and Ryskind will continue as editors of Human Events while retaining an ownership interest in the publication.
The Washington-based Human Events, now entering its 50th year of publication, is known as the Nation's Conservative Weekly. It provides inside-Washington political news and analysis from the conservative viewpoint.
Carneal said: "With its rich history, Human Events is in a class by itself. It is an honor for us to become associated with a publication that has shaped conservative thought and helped set the national agenda for almost 50 years."
Eagle Publishing, Inc., was created this year to acquire and launch public-policy periodicals with a conservative, free-enterprise perspective. The company is a subsidiary of Phillips Publishing International, Inc., a rapidly growing $100 million corporation headquartered in Potomac, Md.
Thomas L. Phillips, president of Phillips Publishing International, said: "The ongoing liberal debacle in the White House is fueling a resurgence of conservative thought and action across America. Human Events will lead the way in focusing on free enterprise alternatives to the Clinton program. I'm delighted that this respected national voice of conservatism is now part of the Phillips Publishing International family."
Winter added: "I have known Tom Phillips for more than 30 years, and I have always been impressed with his dedication to conservative principles and to excellent journalism. Joining forces with Tom, Jeff Carneal and Eagle Publishing will ensure the continued growth and vitality of Human Events."
Human Events' editorial staff will continue to be based in the Human Events building on Capitol Hill in Washington.
