 HUGH MCCOLL RECEIVES WORLD CITIZEN AWARD

Jr., president and chief executive officer of NationsBank Corporation, (NYSE: NB) received the Carolinas' World Citizen Award from the Charlotte World Affairs Council at a dinner in his honor Monday, September 14, 1992, at 7:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Omni Hotel.
 The dinner was chaired by Johnny Harris, president, The Harris Group, who presented the award at the event, attended by 725 national and regional business and civic leaders. In addition to remarks by Mr. Harris, Gov. James Martin spoke about Mr. McColl's accomplishments.
 Mr. McColl was honored as a worldwide leader, innovator and spokesman in the banking industry. He was recognized for turning global attention on Charlotte and the region. Through the creation of NationsBank, Charlotte has increased its presence in the international arena. Under Mr. McColl's leadership, NationsBank Corporation has become one of the largest financial institutions in the United States.
 A native of South Carolina, Mr. McColl graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began his career with NCNB in 1959. Within 15 years, he was named president of the bank, and in 1982, was promoted to president of the corporation. A year later, he was elected chairman of the board and CEO.
 Keynote speaker for the event was Karen Elliott House, vice president of the International Group, Dow Jones & Co. Ms. House is in charge of the business and editorial staffs of all Dow Jones overseas publications and was named in the June 8 issue of Business Week as one of the nation's top 50 businesswomen.
 The Charlotte World Affairs Council is a regional center for international education and discussion. The council is a non-partisan, non-profit organization which brings international experts and statesmen to Charlotte to discuss current foreign policy issues and world affairs.
