HTC Thunderbolt Major Features Just Right.
HTC's Thunderbolt goes on sale today on Verizon's network. It is the first smartphone to be launched with LTE technology, and will be available for $250 with a two year contract.
The HTC's Thunderbolt packs a 4.3-inch display screen which is normal for a 4G smartphone. Other smartphones like the HTC EVO 4G, Motorola Droid Bionic, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Inspire 4G, Samsung 4G LTE and LG Revolution all have similar sized displays.
Thunderbolt's memory capacity is similar to other major 4G smartphones, with 768 MB RAM like the HTC Inspire 4G. It has more capacity than the Droid Bionic, which has 512 MB RAM, but less than the Motorola Atrix and Samsung Galaxy S2 as both features 1 GB RAM.
It has an 8-megapixel camera similar to Samsung's Infuse 4G, HTC Inspire 4G, Droid Bionic and Galaxy S2. The HTC EVO Shift 4G, LG Revolution and Motorola Atrix all offer 5 megapixels.
The battery found in the Thunderbolt is standard Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery which is the average battery size found in today's smartphones.
The Thunderbolt has Android OS version 2.2 (Froyo) found in almost all the major smartphones along with 720p video capture, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB version 2.0, microSD support up to 32 GB and Bluetooth version 2.1 with A2DP and EDR.
One of the weakest points of the smartphone is that the company has opted for a single core 1 GHz processor while other smartphones come with a dual core 1 GHz processor.
The LTE feature is also expected to be in the Motorola Droid Bionic, Samsung 4G LTE and LG Revolution as all of them will be anchoring the Verizon network.
