HT COMMUNICATIONS TO ANNOUNCE FOUR NEW DSU/CSUS AT TCA
SIMI VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- HT Communications will be using the arena of the Tele-Communications Association's 1992 Annual Conference to introduce a new set of single- and multichannel DSU/CSUs that will retail for as little as $595. Three 4-channel units and one single-channel unit will be announced.
Multichannel models feature a simple keyboard and LCD display for monitoring status and alarm conditions, and for menu-selecting operating modes.
The flagship of the line is the P4004-LS, which can be used on leased or dial-up lines up to 64Kbps, accommodates sync or async channels, performs automatic dial backup, and sports an "auto-learn facility for storing dial/disconnect sequences (no EIA 366 port is required.)
Two other 4-channel units are similar, but dedicated to leased line use (point-to-point or multipoint). They can provide anti- streaming, channel sharing, line driver and tail circuit operating capabilities.
The single-channel sync-only P4001 uses a small keypad and 19 LEDs for monitoring and controlling its functions. It can handle a broad set of data rates -- 2400, 4800, 9600, 19.2, or 56Kbps -- and features a list price of only $595. ("Deep-dish" discounts for resellers and OEMs are offered on all units in the family.)
In addition to its new single- and 4-channel DSU/CSUs, HT Communications offers a mix of high performance products for both digital and analog lines, including channel-sharing units, high speed sync/async access multiplexers, high speed modems (9600bps and above), 4- to 64-channel statistical multiplexers, and dual-channel DSU/CSUs.
