 HSC'S BRING THEM HOME AMERICA HITS OUTSTANDING DISTRIBUTION;
 CABLE TV LEADS THE WAY
 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Shopping Network, Inc. (NYSE: HSN) announced that its Home Shopping Club-produced show, Bring Them Home America, has topped a distribution mark of more than 5 million cable television households.
 Cable TV has taken the lead in devoting air time to the program, with more than 190 cable systems participating. The program's initial offering, free to the television industry, was just two months ago.
 Alan Gerson, executive vice president of HSN, praised cable programmers for their overwhelming endorsement of Bring Them Home America. He said, "The anguish of families separated from their children is an all too frequent part of life in communities across our nation.
 "The cable systems and operators that have chosen to help keep the plight of missing children in the public eye have earned the certain gratitude of people struggling to reunite their families. We at HSN want to add our thanks and appreciation to our entire industry for its compassion and community service."
 This project, and the many other local, community-based public service campaigns supported by the cable industry, demonstrate the unique ability of cable systems to meet the needs and concerns of people in their franchise areas. "I hope more and more systems will consider adding Bring Them Home America to their local community service programming efforts," said Gerson.
 Bring Them Home America shows viewers a video photo album of missing children and offers safety tips and thought-provoking interviews with parents.
 Ivana DiNova, executive director, Missing Children Help Center, said, "Unfortunately, no family is immune to threats to its children. I thank HSN for arming families of missing children with television's unparalleled clout and urge everyone to watch Bring Them Home America."
 To inspire more interest in the program, VHS copies of Bring Them Home America and related promotional materials will be distributed to industry representatives attending the CTAM trade show later this month. To arrange to air the program, television services should call Cynthia Spano at 813-572-8585, ext. 7326 for broadcast quality tapes and additional information.
