HSBC Holdings (LSE: HSBA) has announced that it has enhanced its global research team.

The bank said that it enhanced its global research team on April 1. The new appointments are expected to help meet growing demand of investors for guidance on Asia's role in the global economy. The company said that it has named Zhang Zhi Ming as head of China research, based in Hong Kong. He would be responsible for research on the mainland across various asset classes.

The company also appointed Qu Hongbin and Frederic Neumann as managing directors and co-heads of Asian economic research. Qu would continue to be chief economist for Greater China.
