HRH Premier patronises Postal Exhibition.

Manama, Dec. 21 (BNA): Under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) will open the "Postal Department: History, Documentation" exhibition at the Post Office building in Bab Al-Bahrain.

The event takes place on Tuesday, December 22 as part of BACA's celebration of HM the King's Accession Anniversary and the Kingdom's National Day.

The Global Stamps Display Hall includes more than 4,000 of the rarest stamps from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab countries and from around the globe. The display comprises five vaults showing stamps from the GCC and Arab countries as well as international stamps alphabetically arranged.

The International Post Federation had been founded on September, 15, 1874.

Manama Post Office was opened in 1884. Bahrain joined the International Postal Federation membership in 1973. Bahrain had joined the Arab Postal Union in 1968.
