HR Minister calls for accelerating investigation of Hashed assault.

SANA'A, Feb. 14 (Saba) - Human Rights Minister Hourria Mashhour called Thursday for accelerating the investigation procedures in the assault on Member of Parliament Ahmed Saif Hashed.

During her visit to Hashed in the hospital, the Minister condemned the assault taken place on Hashed before the cabinet's office last Tuesday.

Mashhour underlined the right of all Yemenis to protest peacefully and express opinions, which are guaranteed by the Yemeni constitution and legislations.

On the assault day, the government expressed its great and deep regret for the assault and ordered the public prosecutor and the Interior Minister to form an inquiry panel, including at least two Parliament members, to probe into the assault.

The panel headed by an undersecretary of the Interior Ministry was formed later in the same day.

The Member of Parliament was attacked last Tuesday as participating in a sit-in held in front of the cabinet's office demanding to hospitalize the 2011 wounded revolutionaries.

Hashed was injured in his head and some other parts of his body.
