HP SITE OFFERS ELECTRONIC AND CLASSIC STETHOSCOPES FOR SALE.
In response to international customer demand, HP now offers the recently introduced HP Stethos electronic stethoscope and its classic acoustical model, the HP Rappaport-Sprague stethoscope, for sale on the Web. HP Stethos, a fully electronic stethoscope, is capable of amplifying biological sounds up to 14 times higher than a conventional stethoscope. While visiting www.hp.com/go/hpstethos, medical professionals and non-medical consumers can easily receive access to product information and order online.
"We wanted to satisfy physicians' needs for more detailed information about our new stethoscope technology and offer an online shopping experience that appeals to the medical community and to gift-giving consumer," said Jay Mazelsky, general manager of medical supplies for HP's Healthcare Solutions Group.
The new multilingual Web site enables business to be conducted in English, German, and French. It transacts in local currency, including the Euro, and processes orders locally in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Germany.
In 1998, HP's medical supplies business launched the first phase of a global e-commerce strategy to provide its business-to-business customers order transaction capabilities and access to critical service information. Two major enhancements to this customized system were announced earlier this year, illustrating the company's ongoing commitment to electronic business services. The business-to-business site is located at www.hp.com/go/medsupplies.
Today's announcement of e-commerce for medical professionals and consumers marks the expansion of HP's Internet healthcare purchasing capabilities to the international arena.
