HP'S BUILD-TO-ORDER PC PROGRAM FEATURES NVIDIA'S RIVA TNT2 PRO.

Hewlett-Packard Company has chosen NVIDIA Corporation's (Nasdaq:NVDA) RIVA TNT2 Pro 3D graphics processor as the performance option for the build-to-order HP Pavilion multimedia PCs.

The RIVA TNT2 Pro can be selected by end users for all HP Pavilion PCs through electronic kiosks at Circuit City, Staples, and Best Buy or through the HP Shopping Village e-commerce site.

"The RIVA TNT2 Pro will provide HP Pavilion users with a visual experience that is a quantum leap forward," said Dan Vivoli, vice president of marketing at NVIDIA. "HP is a proven leader in providing multimedia solutions for the home user. Utilizing the RIVA TNT2 Pro truly exemplifies its leadership position."

HP's build-to-order program has been expanded to the HP Shopping Village and includes kiosks in Best Buy, Circuit City and Staples retail stores nationwide. Through the build-to-order process customers can personalize their PC's through a choice of different components. They can also fit their new PC within a specific budget by viewing the prices of their customized PCs before submitting their orders.

RIVA TNT2 Pro Targets Mainstream Performance PC Market

Targeting the mainstream performance PC market, the RIVA TNT2 Pro takes the RIVA TNT2 core and significantly boosts the performance to deliver 284 Mpixels of processing power. The RIVA TNT2 architecture is NVIDIA's fourth-generation integrated 128-bit 3D processor. The RIVA TNT2's 32MB frame buffer, 32-bit color pipeline and 32-bit Z/stencil buffer delivers unsurpassed quality and performance.

The RIVA TNT2 Pro is WHQL certified and meets all the requirements of the mainstream PC graphics market and Microsoft's PC 98, PC 99 and all DirectX 6.0 initiatives. In addition to DirectX support, the RIVA TNT2 provides full support for an OpenGL ICD (Installable Client Driver) for Windows 95 and Windows NT. Delivering fast Direct3D acceleration, leadership VGA, DirectDraw and video performance allows the RIVA TNT2 to power a growing range of 3D applications, including the 3D games and full-screen DVD playback.
