 HOWTEK TO INTRODUCE IPDS SYSTEM AT GRAPH EXPO EAST
 HUDSON, N.H., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Howtek, Inc. (AMEX: HTK)


announced today the introduction of the Howtek IPDS(tm) integrated page make-up and design system. The IPDS will be first displayed at the Graph Expo East exhibition in New York City Oct. 3-6. The IPDS represents Howtek's latest introduction of affordable, desktop color solutions and is targeted at the graphic design market.
 The IPDS is a turnkey system comprised of: the Howtek Scanmaster(tm) D4000 high resolution drum scanner; an off-line image mounting station; Macintosh(R) Quadra 950-based workstation which includes a color calibration system, networking capabilities, removable media drive and a 1GB internal hard disk; software applications including Adobe Photoshop(tm), QuarkXpress(R) and Adobe ATM; and a 300 dpi dye sublimation color proofer. According to John Seguin, Howtek's vice president of sales and marketing, "With the addition of the IPDS to our system's family of products, Howtek is able to provide graphic artist's affordable, high quality, electronic pre-press and design capabilities. The finished electronic page can be brought to a local PostScript(R) service bureau or integrated into Colorscan(R), Howtek's production system."
 The IPDS will be offered by Howtek on a direct sales basis with a starting price of $65,000. Deliveries are expected to begin in November of this year.
 Howtek was founded in 1984 by Robert Howard, who was also founder and president of Centronics Computer Corporation and co-founder and chairman of Presstek, Inc.
