HOWTEK ANNOUNCES DISMISSAL OF CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT
HUDSON, N.H., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Howtek Inc. (AMEX: HTK) today

announced the dismissal of Greenberg v. Howtek, a $20 million class action lawsuit brought against the company last year. The lawsuit alleged violations of federal securities laws and fraud by the company, its chairman and president.
Robert Howard, chairman and chief executive officer of Howtek, stated, "This victory represents a vindication of our people, products and performance. This lawsuit was brought at the same time our sales dropped as a result of the recession. Convinced of the correctness of our product strategy and the strength of our technology, we redoubled our development efforts and today Howtek offers the most impressive family of color scanner and pre-press products in its history, including the award-winning Scanmaster(tm) D4000 high-resolution drum scanner. We are grateful for the court's decision and we now can focus on the market opportunities before us."
Howtek designs, engineers and develops color scanners and systems for the pre-press, graphic arts and publishing markets. The company's product offerings include: Scanmaster, a series of drum, flatbed and 35mm color scanners; the Personal Color Scanner, a low-cost, 600 dpi flatbed scanner; and Colorscan(R), a complete electronic pre-press color separation and page make-up system.
Howtek was founded in 1984 by Robert Howard, who was also founder and president of Centronics Data Computer Corp. from 1969 to 1980. Howtek is traded on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol HTK.
