 THE SCANMASTER D4000
HUDSON, N.H., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Howtek, Inc. (AMEX: HTK) announced today the signing of an OEM agreement with OPTO-TECH GmbH to market and sell the Scanmaster D4000 drum scanner through its worldwide distribution channel. The new scanner, called the OPTOSCAN drum, will be added as a higher end product offering in addition to OPTO-TECH's existing line of CCD camera scanners. According to Karl Koch, marketing manager for OPTO-TECH, "OPTOSCAN drum offers the ELectronic Pre-Press market high-end quality at a fraction of the cost of traditional drum scanners. Features of the D4000 include a scanning area up to 10"x10", operator selectable resolutions ranging from 50 to 4000 dpi and an optical density of 3.8. The removable drum architecture allows for off-line mounting and gang scanning.
