HOWSMON NAMED CHAIRMAN, CEO FOR DETROIT DIESEL CORPORATION DISTRIBUTOR
 DETROIT, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Roger L. Howsmon has been elected chairman and CEO of Sierra Detroit Diesel Allison, Inc., the Detroit Diesel and Allison transmission distributor for Northern California.
 Howsmon comes to this position from Peterbilt Motors Company, a division of Paccar, where he was general manager and chief operating officer. He joined Peterbilt in 1987 as assistant general manager with responsibility for sales, marketing and customer service. Howsmon also held several positions of increasing responsibility for Cummins Engine Co. from 1971 through 1983, including vice president - North American sales and service.
 "We are pleased to have an individual with Roger's experience managing the distributorship," said Roger Penske, chairman of Detroit Diesel Corporation. "His knowledge of the industry will be a real asset to the business."
 Howsmon received a bachelor of science degree from Miami University in
Oxford, Ohio. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer.
 Sierra Detroit Diesel Allison, Inc., currently with headquarter facilities in Berkeley, Calif., and a branch operation in Sacramento, Calif., will be moving into a new facility in San Leandro, Calif., early this year and will move its branch into larger facilities in West Sacramento by mid-year.
