HOW YOU CAN LOOK THE PART WHILE CLOWNING AROUND.

CREATE ATE A a cone-shaped clown hat which comes with a mop of colourful curly hair.

YOU WILL NEED: Large coloured sheets of thick paper or card Paper circles or any water-based paint Gift ribbons or crepe paper White glue A pompom Sellotape Scissors WHAT TO DO: MAKE a cone by cutting out a circle of card with a radius of about 8 to 9 inches. Make a cut from the edge into the middle of the circle and then fold the card around the cut to create a cone shape, and stick it in place with tape. ?YOU could, add a chin strap by punching a pair of opposite holes near the base of the hat and attaching elastic).

Decorate your hat with bright-coloured circles either by painting them on or gluing paper circles all around the hat.

Create about 15 to 20 pieces of colourful "hair" using either of these materials: | Curly ribbons - Cut gift ribbons |into 10 to 12-inch long pieces. Curl the ribbons.

Crepe paper - Cut one-inch |wide strips of crepe paper in various colours. Crumple them up a bit so that they look slightly curly.

Tape the ribbons or the crepe T paper strips along the inner edge of the hat to cover roughly half of the cone's base.

Glue a large pompom at the tip of the cone hat.

If you don't have one, crumple up a long strip of crepe paper into a ball and glue it at the tip of the cone.
