Boxed reference number The horse's last race in the official Raceform form book and in the results sections of the Racing Post Weekender. Numbers are allocated daily and the latest races may not yet have been published in the form book. For Irish cards, the number refers to the Irish form book.

Where the latest race was a point-to-point this season (bold form figure), the reference number refers to the Weekender's PTP service.

Form figures for PTP and all-weather races are in bold type. Beaten favourite & course/distance wins exclude PTP form.

Five-day entries Trainer and age are followed by the latest official rating for that surface/code, from which handicap weights are calculated. Ratings in non-handicaps are for interest only. Races with fewer than ten entries are re-opened until 9.15am the next morning (until Monday for races closing on Saturday).

Elimination number A raised figure before the horse's name shows possible overnight elimination should the safety limit be exceeded (number one eliminated first, then two etc).

Advance cards Days since last run A raised figure after the horse's name is the number of days since its last run under today's code. In Flat races, the number of days since a more recent jumps (J) outing is added in brackets. The same applies in jumps races for a more recent Flat or (F) or point-to-point (P) outing.

CD=course-and-distance winner on today's surface C=course winner on today's surface (turf or AW) D=distance winner BF=beaten favourite last time out.

Adjusted Racing Post Rating (top-rated in bold) is the best rating from last 365 days on today's surface/obstacles (races that are not final decs read only last five runs). Rating from opposite surface (turf or AW) is used if none qualifies for today's surface. Our handicapper will re-examine the ratings for raceday cards. Horses out of the handicap will have an improved rating if the weights are raised.
