DAVID MARSHALL Typically the Bluebirds needed a couple of good saves from their 'keeper who duly obliged. He was left horribly exposed for the goals.

5 LEE PELTIER A bit like his side he seemed pretty composed in the first-half, but then in the second he looked rather fragile for very long periods.

5 SEAN MORRISON Has had a good campaign and he kept battling here, but got the wobbles like the rest of his teammates as Brentford pressed late on.

5 MATTHEW CONNOLLY Another Cardiff player who was over-worked in the second period. Will wonder what was going on in the marking for Brentford's first goal.

4 SCOTT MALONE Another player really who had a bad day at the office here. Like his side, the full-back got worse as the game went on.

4 CRAIG NOONE Started in average fashion then faded. An early shot tested the 'keeper then you wrack your brains to think of the contribution he made.

4 JOE RALLS There have been times this season I felt Ralls might have been taken out for a while and rested. Worked hard here, but for all the bluster his impact was minimal.

5 STUART O'KEEFE Has been a real asset since breaking into the side, but even the all-action midfielder looked to be chasing shadows late on as Brentford got their tails up.

4 PETER WHITTINGHAM Well below par again, I mean, even his dead-ball delivery was not good enough which says it all really.

4 LEX IMMERS He's been great since he came in and there were some neat little touches here, but he never seemed to look as dangerous as he has done.

5 SUBSTITUTES Tom Lawrence (for Noone 75 Kenneth Zohore (for Immers 84) Sammy Ameobi (for O'Keefe 88) BRENTFORD Button, Clarke, Dean, Barbet, Bidwell, McCormack, Yennaris, Woods, Saunders (Canos 67), Kerschbaumer (Hogan 76), Vibe
