HOW OTHER FOUNDATION TRUSTS PAY THEIR DIRECTORS.

AREA: South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust PAY BEFORE: Prior to the trust achieving foundation status in 2005, the chairman was paid up to pounds 20,000 and the non-executive directors were paid up to pounds 5,000.

PAY AFTER: Now the trust has foundation status, the chairman is paid up to pounds 40,000 and non-executive directors up to pounds 10,000.

AREA: Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust PAY BEFORE: Before the trust achieved foundation status in 2005, the chairman was paid up to pounds 20,000 and the non-executive directors were paid up to pounds 10,000. PAY AFTER: Now the trust has foundation status the chairman is paid up to pounds 50,000 and the non-executive directors are paid to a range of up to pounds 15,00 or up to pounds 20,000.

AREA: Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust PAY BEFORE: Before the trust achieved foundation status in 2006, the chairman was paid up to pounds 25,000 and the non-executive directors were paid up to pounds 10,000. PAY AFTER: Now the trust has foundation status the chairman is paid up to pounds 55,000 and the non-executive directors are paid up to pounds 20,000.

AREA: Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust PAY BEFORE: Before the trust achieved foundation status in 2009, the chairman was paid up to pounds 25,000 and the non-executive directors were paid up to pounds 10,000. PAY AFTER: Now the trust has foundation status the chairman is paid up to pounds 35,000 and the non-executive directors are paid up to pounds 10,000.

AREA: Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust PAY BEFORE: The trust would not give information about how much the chairman and non-executive directors were paid.

PAY AFTER: Now the trust has foundation status, the chairman is paid pounds 50,000 and the non-executive directors are paid pounds 11,000.
