HOVEN ASSUMES TOP MARKETING POST AT REVCO
TWINSBURG, Ohio, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Boake A. Sells, chairman and

chief executive officer of Revco D.S., Inc., announced today that D. Dwayne Hoven, executive vice president of stores, has been named executive vice president, marketing and stores. Hoven succeeds James B. Adamson, executive vice president, marketing, who has resigned from Revco to become president of Burger King Corp., U.S.A. Retail Division, based in Miami.
Hoven will oversee all of Revco's marketing and merchandising activities, including pharmacy and over-the-counter merchandise purchasing, inventory management, marketing services and third party marketing, as well as continuing to oversee the operations of Revco's 1,150 drug stores. He will continue to report directly to Sells.
In making the announcement, Sells said, "This appointment demonstrates the depth of our management team. As a member of the executive committee for four years, and having headed both distribution and store operations for Revco, Dwayne has contributed significantly to Revco's strategic direction, and has worked closely with Jim Adamson. He will add store and customer experience to Revco's marketing strategy."
Hoven came to Revco from Davis-Dyar Supply Co., a wholesale distributor, where he was president and owner. He began his career as an industrial engineer for Newport News Ship Building in 1964. In 1968 he was hired by Sav-A-Stop Inc., which was a wholesale distribution company and parent of Scottie Drug Stores, McDuff Appliance Stores, Inc. and Top Dollar Stores. Hoven held a variety of operations management positions during his 13 years there, and was the executive vice president and chief operating officer before leaving the company.
Hoven joined T.G. & Y. Stores Company in 1984. T.G. & Y. was at that time a $2 billion Oklahoma-based discount retailer with stores in 30 states. At T.G. & Y. he served as executive vice president of operations, with responsibility for store operations, distribution, loss prevention and re-order buying. Hoven holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial management from Auburn University. He and his family are residents of Hudson, Ohio.
Revco operates some 1,150 drug stores in 10 contiguous eastern states, and fills more than 43 million prescriptions annually. Based in Twinsburg, Ohio, the privately held company has annual sales of more than $1.9 billion.
