 HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE TO HOLD HEARING
 HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The state House Judiciary


Committe said today it will hold a hearing Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Pittsburgh on legislation that would allow -- on a case-by-case basis -- persons serving life sentences in state prisons to have their cases reviewed for the possibility of parole after serving at least five years.
 Committee Chairman Thomas R. Caltagirone (D-Berks) said the committee will hear testimony from families of victims whose perpetrators are now serving life sentences, inmates' families and life-sentenced inmates.
 The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. in the facility's visiting room.
 This is the second hearing on the bill (H.B. 1382). The first was held at the State Correctional Institution at Graterford.
