HOUSE! I'M UK'S FIRST BINGO CLUB MILLIONAIRE pounds 1m winner to buy dream home.
BINGO millionaire Margaret Shearer will use her jackpot to buy a dream home for her family.
She toasted her win last night with her mum Margaret Money, 69, partner Joe Flannigan, 46, and electrician son David, 23.
And she told how the win would change the lives of her family. Margaret, 46, from Ruchazie, Glasgow, said: "I've played bingo for years. I normally play with my mum and Joe.
"My mum isn't in the best of health. She suffers from chest problems and recently fell and broke her back.
"We've been trying to buy a new house nearer her but never found anywhere suitable.
"The first thing we will do with this money is buy a home where we can all live together, maybe in the south side of Glasgow."
Margaret and Joe's daughter Lisa, who works as an accountant in Canada, will fly in to join the party today.
Margaret worked at the McVitie's factory in Tollcross, Glasgow, until she was laid off three weeks ago.
Now she is looking forward to enjoying some luxury, including a cruise to see Lisa inMontreal.
She said: "I have never been able to visit Lisa as I'm absolutely terrified of flying. But maybe now I can spend six weeks on a cruise going over to see her.
"Anyway, after we told Lisa about the win, she said she will be taking a plane tomorrow to come and see us."
Margaret picked up her big money win in the 2.30pm game at her usual bingo club, the Glasgow Forge Mecca.
Playing against people in Mecca clubs all over Britain, she was the first to call a full house ending in the number 1.
She celebrated with her mum before they rang Joe, who was having a drink in a nearby pub.
Joe, who works as a ventilation fitter, said: "Margaret called me up and told me she had won but I didn't believe her.
"It wasn't until she put her mum on the phone, then the manager of the club, that I knew she was telling the truth."
Even though Margaret and Joe have been together for 30 years, they have never tied the knot.
Joe added: "We've never felt the need to get married and I don't think it's something we will do now."
Club manager Grant Munro last night described the moment when Margaret clinched the pounds 1million.
He said: "Her face was a picture of stunned silence. But the rest of the club went absolutely wild."
Mecca said the millionaire game was introduced on September 1 with the relaxation of gaming laws.
The spokesman added: "This is the first time someone has been able to win this huge sum of money at a bingo club."
The gaming firm had previously estimated a millionaire would be created every 45 days. But yesterday's win came on the 21st day of the game.
