HOTEL ASSOCIATION INTRODUCES 'ARE YOU READY?' THURSDAY
Event: Hotel Association introduces "Are You Ready?" series at
Track O in Suburban Station -- holiday bagpiper Rufus
Harley joins Four Seasons waiter serving eggnog.
 Time: Thursday, Dec. 12, 10:30 a.m.
Place: Lobby of 1617 JFK Boulevard, Philadelphia, for escort
 to Track O.
 Details:
Hors d'oeuvres and eggnog at Suburban Station served by a Four Seasons waiter? Only in Philadelphia, and only once, as the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association takes its members for a ride ... literally.
More than 25 general managers from local hotels will gather at Track O for a ride on SEPTA's Route R1 Airport Line to Philadelphia International Airport, where they will participate in the first of a series of forums called "Are You Ready?", a challenging presentation addressing those issues and audiences directly affected by the opening of the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 1993.
This first forum puts the spotlight on SEPTA and the airport, both quasi-public, heavy-use service groups that will experience greater traffic and heightened performance expectations while struggling with budget cuts and a transitional city government.
Hotel Association President John Indrieri will be joined at Suburban Station by Jim DeLong, director of aviation at the airport, and Jim Palmer, SEPTA's assistant general manager of Regional Rail, for brief remarks, followed by departure for the airport.
