HOSPITAL HUNKS; A medic a month bares all for Cancer Research.

Byline: Gemma Williams

WITH hospital hunks stripped bare, this calendar is just what the doctor ordered.

Medics sent temperatures rising at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant when they struck a pose for Cancer Research.

With just the odd stethoscope or thermometer to protect them against the autumn chill, they bared all after nurses at the hospital joked they should strut their stuff in a charity calendar.

And the doctors, surgeons, anaesthetists and consultants who took part are already laughing - 500 calendars out of the 750 printed have already been snapped up by colleagues at the hospital.

'We joked about it last year, but they all believed us and kept asking about it,' said nurse Sheila Smart, who put the calendar together with colleague Jane Channon.

'We thought if they were willing to do it, we should go for it.'

The nurses decided all money from the cheeky calendar would go to Cancer Research Wales because both have lost parents to the disease.

Sheila said: 'We wanted to give something back and Cancer Research do so much good. All our models were brilliant to do it and I think a few would have gone the Full Monty if they didn't have to consider their professional position.'

The calendars, priced pounds 6, are on sale at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant.
