HORSEMEN UNANIMOUSLY SUPPORT PROPOSED AUBURN RACE TRACK

RENTON, Wash., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- During a general Horsemen's meeting held at Yakima Meadows Race Track on Wednesday, May 26, the more than 100 horsemen in attendance voted to give 100-percent support to Northwest Racing Associates and their Auburn Race Track proposal, according to the Horsemen's Benevolent & Protective Association (HBPA).
A similar vote backing the Auburn proposal was given at a general Horsemen's meeting held at Longacres Park last September. At that time, HBPA President Carl Olson stated, "It is time for us to give unified support to the group that we feel can get the job done. That position has not changed," Olson stated. "It is the official position of the HBPA board of directors and our members to do whatever is needed to assure that live racing returns to Western Washington at the earliest possible date. A showing of unity and strength in backing Auburn as the only viable site is essential to that goal."
