Just for the fun of it VVGOOGLING a runner Saffron Park 7.30 Kempton Saffron Park in GK Chesterton's novel The Man Who Was Thursday was based on Bedford Park, a suburban development in the London borough of Ealing. It was the world's first garden suburb and created a model that was copied around the world. The developer was Jonathan Carr who in 1875 bought 24 acres just north of Turnham Green station, which was built six years earlier. In the 1880s, with its church, parish hall, stores, pub and school of art, living in Bedford Park was the height of fashion. Among its residents were the poet WB Yeats and painter Camille Pissarro.
