VVGOOGLING a runner Whiskeymack 12.50 Doncaster More commonly written as Whisky Mac, the name is a contraction of Whisky Macdonald. Its invention, and its name, is attributed to a Colonel Macdonald, who devised it during the days of the British Raj in India. It is a blended drink of whisky and ginger wine with the recipe varying from equal measures of each constituent to ratios of 2:1, 3:1 or 3:2, whisky to wine. Most Whisky Macs are served without ice, it being a winter warmer, or even heated as a hot toddy popular with people suffering from colds or apres-ski enthusiasts. The horse's name is spelt with a letter e, which denotes an Irish whiskey as opposed to Scotch whisky without an e.
