HORIZON HEALTHCARE ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF A LICENSED SPECIALTY HOSPITAL IN SAN ANTONIO

 ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Horizon Healthcare Corp. (NYSE: HHC) announced today the opening of the Horizon Specialty Hospital in San Antonio.
 The 30 bed specialty hospital will be operated by the company under a Specialty Hospital license and is dedicated to providing high quality care to serve the needs of patients with medically complex conditions including ventilator care, neuro-rehabilitation, infusion therapy, head trauma and coma stimulation at a substantially lower cost than in the acute hospital setting. Horizon operates seven specialty hospitals and six subacute care units which provide an extensive array of subacute medical and rehabilitation programs.
 Commenting on the announcement, Neal Elliott, Horizon's chairman and chief executive officer stated, "We are pleased with the opening of this, our seventh specialty hospital. The opening of the San Antonio facility will further the success and earnings growth from our specialty services. We will continue the growth of this segment of our business with the anticipated opening of four specialty hospitals and specialty centers during the next six months.
