HONEYWELL SETTLES AUTOFOCUS PATENT DISPUTE

 MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Honeywell Inc. (NYSE: HON) today said it has settled its autofocus camera patent infringement dispute with Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd. (NASDAQ: FUJIY) of Japan and its U.S. subsidiary, Fuji Photo Film USA Inc., heading off a civil trial scheduled for October.
 Under the settlement, Fuji will pay Honeywell an undisclosed amount, which will be included in Honeywell's third-quarter financial results. Honeywell agreed to drop its lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in New Jersey, alleging that Fuji used Honeywell's automatic focus camera technology without permission.
 Fuji is the 15th and final company targeted by Honeywell in the patent dispute. Honeywell previously announced autofocus settlements of $314.2 million from 14 other camera manufacturers since March 1992.
