 HONEYWELL ESTABLISHES AVIONICS COMPANY IN MOSCOW
 MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Honeywell Inc. (NYSE: HON) said

today it has formed a new Russian company, Honeywell Aviation Control Moscow, to supply avionics to the Commonwealth of Independent States.
 The company, which was registered July 7, was initially established as a wholly owned Honeywell subsidiary. However, partners from the aircraft and avionics industries in the C.I.S. are being considered as joint stockholders.
 The mission of Honeywell Aviation Control Moscow is to become a leading supplier, both to aircraft manufacturers and airlines in the C.I.S. and global markets, of avionics systems and services that are developed, produced, marketed and supported through the joint efforts of the C.I.S. and Honeywell, the world's leader in avionics.
 Jim Koch, vice president of C.I.S. business development for Honeywell's Commercial Flight Systems Group in Phoenix, said Honeywell Aviation Control Moscow will:
 1. provide state-of-the-art avionics products, engineering services and worldwide product support to the C.I.S. aviation industry to help make C.I.S. original equipment manufacturers and airlines globally competitive;
 2. make Honeywell's technology, marketing and product support resources available to the C.I.S. avionics industry for joint development, manufacturing and support activities. This will enhance the industry's ability to support aviation worldwide and to competitively access global markets.
 Subject to U.S. technology export regulations, Honeywell Aviation Control Moscow will provide total integrated avionics systems for new aircraft built in the C.I.S., and will develop and sell specific avionics products to C.I.S.-based airlines for retrofitting and upgrading existing aircraft.
 These opportunities could include Tupolev, Ilyushin, Antonov, Yakovlev and other aircraft.
 Giannantonio Ferrari, president of Honeywell Europe, said: "We are enthusiastic about the future of our new Russian company and proud to contribute to the restructuring and revitalization of the C.I.S. aviation industry. Initiatives such as these will enable C.I.S. avionics companies to become competitive in world markets."
 Jerry Vandervoort, vice president and general manager of Honeywell's Air Transport Systems Division in Phoenix, said: "Aircraft of the former Soviet Union have flown for over four decades in more than 60 countries. We are particularly pleased now to join our own distinguished avionics background with such a far-reaching aircraft tradition."
 Honeywell is a global controls company that provides products, systems and services for homes and buildings, industry, and aviation and space. The company employs 58,000 people worldwide and had 1991 sales of $6.2 billion.
