HONDA CIVIC DEL SOL OFFERS OPEN-TOP EXCITEMENT

HONDA CIVIC DEL SOL OFFERS OPEN-TOP EXCITEMENT
TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- American Honda Motor Co.

Inc. has introduced the all-new 1993 Civic del Sol, an innovative 2-seat automobile featuring a unique removable roof panel that allows the car to be operated as a hard-top coupe and offer the fun and excitement of an open-top configuration.
The lightweight aluminum roof panel is easily removed, and is stored in a cleverly designed storage rack in the trunk. Even with the panel secured in the rack, the trunk contains 8.3 cubic feet of storage space that is easily accessible, giving the del Sol excellent everyday utility.
Exceptional attention to airflow management within the open-top cabin provides the driver and passenger with a pleasant, open-air driving experience. Airflow can be further managed with the power- operated side windows. A power rear window further allows the driver to control cabin airflow.
The del Sol is available in two trim levels. The del Sol S is powered by a 1.5 liter, 16-valve 102-horsepower engine. Standard features include driver's side airbag (SRS), tachometer, power- operated side and rear windows and dual side mirrors. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; power-assisted steering is standard on the del Sol S when equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission.
A 1.6 liter, 16-valve 125-horsepower engine with variable valve timing gives the del Sol Si excellent response. Additional features include larger, 14-inch aluminum alloy wheels, cruise control, power- assisted four-wheel disc brakes, body-colored dual power mirrors and power-assisted steering.
Pricing for the 1993 Civic del Sol will start at $13,200 for the del Sol S with five-speed manual transmission, and $14,180 for the del Sol S equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission. The del Sol Si will be priced at $15,000 when equipped with the five-speed manual transmission, and $15,750 with the four-speed automatic transmission.
All 1993 Honda automobiles feature a three-year, 36,000 mile limited warranty.
