HOMESTYLE NAMES CRIVITS, FORMER CONSUL CORP. EXECUTIVE, AS PRESIDENT
PALM HARBOR, Fla., April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Homestyle Buffet, Inc. (NASDAQ:HBUF) today announced that James H. Crivits has agreed to serve as president of the company effective April 15, 1992. He succeeds John A. Scott, who is leaving Homestyle to pursue another business opportunity. Scott will assist Homestyle as a consultant during the transition.
Crivits, 49, was chairman and chief executive officer of Consul Corp., the largest franchisee of Chi-Chi's Restaurants, with 52 units in the United States and Canada. Consul is based in Minneapolis, Minn.
Homestyle Chairman Barry M. Rowles noted that Crivits has been consulting with Homestyle, and has already been nominated to serve on the board of directors.
Rowles said that Homestyle's five operations regional managers will report directly to Crivits. The position of vice president of operations was eliminated following the recent resignation of William Fox from that position, Rowles added.
Rowles said that the new organization will facilitate the rollout of the company's important restaurant renovation program, just now beginning.
Homestyle owns and operates 33 buffet restaurants in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. The restaurants offer a wide variety of menu items comprising complete meals in a self-service, low fixed price buffet format.
