 HOME SHOPPING NETWORK SIGNS EXCLUSIVE COLUMBUS
 QUINCENTENNIAL MARKETING CONTRACT
 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Shopping Network, Inc. (NYSE: HSN) announced today that it has signed an exclusive 12-month direct television sales, direct mail and travel license agreement with the Spanish Government Commission (Sociedad Estatal Quinto Centenario), to market products and events linked to SPAIN 92 -- 500 Years of America, the world's largest quincentennial celebration.
 The venture marks the union of HSN's new world high-tech resources and marketing skills with old world state-of-the-art accomplishment -- Christopher Columbus' voyages to America.
 J.G. Stanley & Co., Inc. of New York is the exclusive quincentennial marketing and licensing agent for the United States and Canada. Joan Stanley, president of J.G. Stanley & Co., said, "We are delighted that HSN has signed a contract for this unique, under-one-roof marketing endeavor. HSN is recognized as a rapidly growing marketing giant in America, and it will employ many of its subsidiaries and massive marketing and technological capabilities to ensure the success of this joint venture." Such items as commemorative watches and jewelry; medallions; works of art, such as bronze castings and lithographs; puzzles; T-shirts and other items of apparel; cards and collectibles will be offered for sale on Home Shopping Club programming.
 In addition to airing products and information on its powerful Home Shopping Club programs, HSN Mail Order, Inc. will carry commemorative merchandise in its catologs. HSNE, Home Shopping's channel devoted to long-form commercials known as video showcases, will air informational programs and sell products and tickets to events tied to the celebration.
 HSN Travel, Inc., will book reservations and tour packages for the many events and festivals included in the quincentennial observance, including tours of the caravels and festivals at docksides.
 Special 800/900 number programs, implemented by HSN 800/900 Corporation, will trace the destinations of the Tour of Caravels and give people a view of their heritage in a Find Your Roots project targeted for the U.S. Hispanic market.

 The year-long anniversary commemoration includes a modern-day voyage of Spanish-built replicas of the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria, the caravels sailed by Columbus and his crews. Among other highlights are Spain '92's entry into the America's Cup Challenge and participation in the Tournament of Roses celebration; The Quintessential Challenge, an attempt to sail around the world nonstop in record-breaking time of less than 109 days; performing arts presentations, such as Martha Graham's final dance tribute to the spirit of Columbus, "Eyes of the Goddess"; Dance of the Andalusian Horses by Andalusian Equestrian Art; historical and educational exhibitions and much more.
