 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Shopping


Network, Inc. (NYSE: HSN), one of the nation's leading telemarketing companies, announced that it has established the National Call Center, Inc. (NCCi) to consolidate, in a single subsidiary, the sales and operational management of HSN's state-of-the-art telephone platform and facilities.
 NCCi is the largest U.S. service bureau organization, with more than 20,000 operational telephone lines and points of presence for such major long-line service providers as MCI and AT&T.
 Through NCCi's total call processor technology and its extensive live operator capabilities (in excess of 2,500 seats), more than 300,000 inbound calls are completed each day, with the capacity to handle more than 2 million calls a day.
 The NCCi, which is supported by HSN's MIS applications, including order processing, credit authorization, mail order, media tracking and a marketing data base that contains records and analysis of HSN's customers and marketing profiles of every American ADI and zip code. In addition, HSN Fulfillment, Inc., operates four strategically placed national fulfillment centers which presently ship more than 30 million packages a year to support NCCi. These capabilities make NCCi the premium full-service provider of 800 and 900 audiotex services and 800 number live operator services to the interactive and direct response industries.
 NCCi is also in the forefront of developing interactive technology with its national pay-per-view ordering system (PPV), which is scheduled for on-line Beta testing in June. The National Call Center's PPV ordering system will allow pay-per-view ordering through a single national phone number, which, with ANI and DNIS technology, can provide customized ordering and messaging for individual cable systems, including on-line credit clearance, merchandise sales, fulfillment, centralized billing and audit capacity. HSN's state-of-the-art proprietary headend architecture can then be directly accessed, via satellite, to turn on a cable customer's addressable box and deliver the event.
