 HOME DEPOT TO OPEN FOURTH STORE IN JACKSONVILLE AREA
 JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Home Depot


(NYSE: HD), America's largest home center retailer, today announced the opening of its fourth store in the Jacksonville area on Wednesday, March 11.
 "We're opening our fourth store in the Jacksonville area to meet the city's growing needs," said Tim Sparks, Jacksonville store manager.
 Each store employs approximately 175 people and provides significant tax and property revenue.
 The average Home Depot is over 100,000 square feet plus a 20,000-square-foot garden center.
 Home Depot stores stock approximately 30,000 different kinds of building materials, home improvement and lawn and garden products which are sold primarily to do-it-yourselfers but also to home improvement, construction and building maintenance professionals. Known for its high level of customer service, stores also offer free do-it-yourself clinics.
 The stores also feature a professionally staffed design center which offers free consulting for many home improvement projects ranging from lighting to a computer-assisted design for a kitchen or bathroom.
 Founded in 1978, Home Depot is now widely regarded as the leading retailer in the home center industry. Its stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "HD" and is included in the Standard & Poor's 500 index.
