 HOME DEPOT TO JOIN COMMUNITY OF SUGARLAND
 SUGARLAND, Texas, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Home Depot


(NYSE: HD), America's largest home center retailer, today announced the opening of a store at 15505 S.W. Freeway in Sugarland on Thursday, April 23.
 "We're opening the Sugarland store to meet the growing needs of the area," said Joe Staton, Sugarland store manager.
 The Sugarland store, employing approximately 175 people and providing significant tax and property revenue, will have 102,250 square feet with an additional 20,000 square-foot garden center.
 The store will stock approximately 30,000 different kinds of building materials, home improvement and lawn and garden products which are sold primarily to do-it-yourselfers but also to home improvement, construction and building maintenance professionals. Known for its high level of customer service, stores also offer free do-it-yourself clinics.
 The store will feature a professionally staffed design center which offers free consulting for many home improvement projects ranging from lighting to a computer-assisted design for a kitchen or bathroom.
 Founded in 1978, Home Depot is now widely regarded as the leading retailer in the home center industry. Its stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "HD," and is included in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index.
