 HOME CENTERS, INC. VOLUNTARILY SEEKS CHAPTER 11 REORGANIZATION
 AKRON, Ohio, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Centers, Inc. (NASDAQ: HCEN), a retailer of major appliances and consumer and home electronics with stores in northern and central Ohio, today filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in U.S. Bankruptcy Court here seeking protection from creditors. The Chapter 11 case was assigned to Judge Harold F. White.
 Home Centers, Inc. also announced that, effective at the close of business on March 12, 1992, it has voluntarily closed all of its stores to preserve its assets and to protect the interests of creditors.
