HOME BUILDERS CONGRATULATE PRESIDENT-ELECT BILL CLINTON
WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) today congratulated Gov. Bill Clinton on his election as the nation's 42nd president.
"The mandate of this election was to end the political gridlock and to put the economy back on track," said NAHB President Robert "Jay" Buchert. "President-elect Clinton connected with the American people with his message of change and economic growth. He ran a brilliant campaign. And he has earned the support of all Americans."
NAHB, a Washington-based trade association, represents 157,000 building and other firms involved in all aspects of residential construction. During a typical year, residential construction, including remodeling, accounts for about 5 percent of the nation's domestic economy.
