HOLLAND AMERICA LINE-WESTOURS ADDS NEW MS MAASDAM TO EXPANDED 1994 ALASKA CRUISE SCHEDULE

SEATTLE, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Holland America Line-Westours Inc. said today it will feature five of its vessels, including the new ms Maasdam, in an expanded 96-departure, 1994 Alaska cruise schedule, (May 12-Sept. 24). The company will also reposition the ms Nieuw Amsterdam and the ms Noordam to the Glacier Route from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Seward, Alaska, and return, doubling the number of these departures compared to 1993.
For 1994, Holland America Line-Westours, the oldest and largest Alaska cruise/tour company, will feature the ms Maasdam on Tuesday departures (May 17-Sept. 13), the ss Rotterdam on Thursdays (May 12- Sept. 22), and the ms Westerdam on Saturdays (May 21-Sept. 24) for a series of 60, seven-day Inside Passage cruises, roundtrip from Vancouver, British Columbia. For the 1994 season, the ms Nieuw Amsterdam and the ms Noordam will be repositioned to offer 36, seven-day Glacier Route cruises departing every Sunday from either Vancouver, British Columbia (May 15-Sept. 11) or from Seward, Alaska (May 22- Sept. 18).
Throughout the season, Tuesday (Maasdam), Thursday (Rotterdam) and Saturday (Westerdam) departures will take place from Canada Place in Vancouver. Each Sunday, either the Nieuw Amsterdam or the Noordam will depart from Canada Place or from Seward, Alaska.
Partially due to the high interest in booking 1993 Alaska cruises, and the diminished number of berths remaining for this season, Holland America Westours has already begun taking bookings for the 1994 season through travel agents.
The company expects to have exact pricing, type and variety of early booking discounts and brochures available soon. Several new cruise tour offerings will also be announced for the 1994 season.
Holland America Line, 1993 winner of both "Ship of the Year" (ms Noordam) and "Best Cruise Line Value" by Ocean & Cruise News, has the highest-rated fleet sailing in Alaska.
