CANDY CANE HUNTS, SANTA'S TUCK-IN SERVICE HIGHLIGHT THE HOLIDAYS
ATLANTA, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company presents a holiday season filled with fun and good cheer for guests age 4-12.
While The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company features year-round activities in a supervised "Ritz Kids" program, 15 hotels and resorts have designed extra festivities to celebrate the season, including Tennis-with-Santa, Teddy Bear Teas, Gingerbread villages, Christmas puppet shows and Ritz Kids day camps.
 HO-HO-HO HOLIDAY FUN
St. Nick is on everyone's list at Christmas, and Ritz Kids can plan on extra time to tell him their wishes ... Santa arrives in the true Hawaiian tradition -- by canoe -- at The Ritz-Carlton, Mauna Lani followed by a festive affair. At The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach, young guests can challenge Santa's backhand in a round of tennis with special classes, while sleepyheads at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples can enjoy Santa's best bedside manner with holiday "tuck-in" service. The fun continues with Candy Cane hunts 'round the pool hosted by St. Nick in Palm Beach and Naples, plus a memorable tea party with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead.
As every child knows, Santa loves to eat, so why not enjoy a memorable meal with St. Nick and crew? Mr. Claus makes special guest appearances for lunch and dinner at The Jockey Club of The Ritz-Carlton, Washington after enjoying a holiday brunch for children at The Ritz- Carlton, Pentagon City and New York plus an early morning Breakfast- with-Santa at The Ritz-Carlton, Kansas City and Palm Beach.
 'BEAR-Y' FESTIVE AFTERNOONS
Teddy Bear Teas delight children of all ages with a magical afternoon of child-sized cookies, cocoa and party sandwiches. Teddy Bears attend as the guests of honor, either with the children or as a celeb-bear-ty appearance ... more than 100 teddy bears decorate The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage Lobby Lounge while The Ritz-Carlton, Naples hosts a display from Frannie's Teddy Bear Museum. Guests at Teddy Bear Tea at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City receive a keepsake photo with either Winnie-the-Pooh or Panda Bear while children (and bears!) enjoy storytelling from Bearington T. Bear at The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix.
Children donating a new teddy bear to a less fortunate child are rewarded with complimentary tea at The Ritz-Carlton, Kansas City while Santa Claus makes a guest appearance at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington DC Teddy Bear Tea. Other Ritz-Carlton Hotels featuring this fun family tradition include St. Louis, Houston, Atlanta and Palm Beach, while The Ritz-Carlton, Houston also devotes an entire morning to a Teddy Bear Brunch.
 NUTCRACKER 'SWEET' TRADITIONS
What Christmas would be complete without the magic of "The Nutcracker Suite"? The Ritz-Carlton, Boston introduced an enchanting tradition seven years ago with the hotel's version of "The Nutcracker Suite." The public is invited to view the fantasyland of sugarplum fairies, while guests preferring to extend their visit may enjoy a hospitality first -- The Clara and Fritz Suite. This wondrous two-room suite is decorated in a Nutcracker holiday theme with festive garlands, ribbons, games, gifts and candied ornaments for children, allowing the entire family to celebrate the season in comfort.
Dining at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston is a delight all its own ... the hotel's restaurants are transformed into "The Battle of The Toy Soldiers and The Mice," "The Christmas Tree Forest," and "The Palace of Sweets." Special holiday menus are available in addition to the Ritz Kids menu. Clara and Fritz Host Breakfast at The Ritz is a morning not to be forgotten with guest appearances of The Nutcracker ballet dancers. The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland also hosts a Nutcracker Holiday Brunch with special activities as gingerbread cookie decorating, marzipan wreath creating, a child-sized buffet plus keepsake photographs with The Nutcracker performers in a holiday carousel garden.
 HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is known for celebrating memorable occasions, and during the holidays the ambience and events are even more festive. Each hotel welcomes the season in a unique and merry manner, from gingerbread creations to tree-lighting ceremonies to New Year's Eve parties with "no parents allowed!" Guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Kansas City enjoy a replica of Spain's Giralda Tower created completely of gingerbread and chocolate while younger guests may actually wander through a 6 x 10-foot Gingerbread Village in Rancho Mirage. The Ritz- Carlton, Rancho Mirage also welcomes the holidays with a festive tree- lighting ceremony featuring local choirs and St. Nick and his elves (of course!).
Children and teenagers reign supreme when ringing in the New Year with activities all their own at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach and Naples. Young guests of the resorts are invited to one of two adult- supervised parties featuring entertainment, snacks, games and fireworks. (Young children are separate from teenage guests.) Both the Naples and Palm Beach resorts also offer activity rooms with an array of video games, pool tables or table tennis. In addition, Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Washington D.C. and Mauna Lani feature Christmas movies and puppet shows.
 RITZ KIDS DAY CAMP
Supervised activities for children ages 4-12 continue throughout the holidays with a merry theme. Ranging from a four-hour program to an all-day affair, Ritz Kids Day Camps are offered in Kansas City, Naples, Palm Beach and Rancho Mirage. Each day camp is supervised by an adult staff member and activities vary from gingerbread cookies decorating to holiday movies to a complete Christmas theatrical production (The Ritz- Carlton, Naples only). Fees also range per hotel based upon length and snacks, but generally cost from $20-$40.
