HOLIDAY RV SUPERSTORES ANNOUNCES A RETURN TO PROFITABILITY
FOR SECOND QUARTER, FISCAL YEAR 1992
ORLANDO, Fla., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Holiday RV Superstores, Inc., (NASDAQ: RVEE) today announced a return to profitability for the second quarter fiscal 1992, ending April 30, 1992. The company achieved total revenue of $12.13 million for the quarter, up 1.3 percent over the second quarter fiscal 1991 total revenue of $11.98 million. Net income for the quarter was $108,186, down 4.2 percent from fiscal 1991 second quarter net income of $112,948.
For the six month period ending April 30, 1992 compared to the six month period ending April 30, 1991, total revenues were up 4.4 percent to $19.90 million from $19.06 million. Net income increased 230 percent, to $22,500 from a loss of $17,400. Sales and service revenues were up 4.2 percent, to $19.6 million from $18.8 million. Rental revenues increased 25.4 percent, to $300,000 from $239,000.
Newton C. Kindlund, president and chief executive officer of Holiday RV Superstores, Inc., commented "We are encouraged by the results achieved in the first six months of fiscal 1992, and see our modest recovery as indicative of the steady but slow recovery of the general U.S. economy from the recession experienced in 1991. The RV industry is experiencing a strong, but uneven recovery throughout the U.S., with leading manufacturers reporting strong increases in wholesale inventory unit shipments. In the Southeastern U.S., our primary market area, unit sales are lagging behind national unit sales. We expect this trend to continue for the remainder of fiscal 1992, and the Southeastern market to catch up to national sales in the first and second quarters of fiscal 1993. Our company has been able to maintain an excellent cash position and is poised for a strong rebound in fiscal 1993."
Holiday RV Superstores, Inc. is the nation's only publicly traded recreational vehicle and marine retailer. The company sells, services and rents RV (both motorized and towables) and marine products, and represents the industry's leading manufacturers in their six superstore dealership network in the Southeastern United States.
