HOFFMAN CONSTRUCTION CHOSEN FOR BOEING LONGACRES PARK PROJECT
KIRKLAND, Wash., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Hoffman Construction Co. of Washington announced today it has been awarded a contract to build the Boeing Customer Services Training Center at Longacres Park in Renton.
The 600,000-square-foot building will provide world-class flight simulator training facilities for Boeing's commercial airline customers. In addition to Boeing's current family of commercial airplanes, training for the company's new 777 model will take place in the facility.
Preparation of the 51-acre site will begin in mid-June with demolition of barns and stables on the north end of the Longacres site. Construction of the training center is scheduled to begin in September and be completed by December 1993.
"We're excited about working with Boeing and their architects to create an extremely high-quality facility," said Hoffman President Ed Newman. "Everyone we've talked to at Boeing has emphasized the importance of customer relations with the airline pilots and maintenance people who will be training in this facility," he added. "Our approach to the project is to mirror this customer service attitude."
Established in 1922, Hoffman Construction has built many of Downtown Seattle's highrises, including the Federal Office Building, 1600 Bell Plaza, the Westin Tower and One Union Square. Hoffman's last project for Boeing was a three-building engineering office complex at Everett.
