 HOECHST CELANESE TO REALIGN MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
 SOMERVILLE, N.J., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Hoechst Celanese Corporation announced today that it will realign the corporation's management structure, effective April 1.
 "The structure of the Executive Committee will be changed in order to increase members' direct exposure to all of Hoechst Celanese's businesses, better balance their individual responsibilities and position the company for the future," Dr. Ernest H. Drew, president and chief executive officer, said.
 The following appointments have been made, all reporting to Drew:
 Thomas F. Kennedy has been appointed executive vice president. Kennedy will be responsible for the Textile Fibers Group, the Technical Fibers Group, Resins, Fibers Raw Materials and Administration, the Specialty Chemicals Group, Strategic Business Development and Specialty Businesses.
 Dr. Joseph H. Patterson has been appointed executive vice president. Patterson will be responsible for the Advanced Materials Group, the Advanced Technology Group, and the Life Sciences Group.
 Harry R. Benz, chief financial officer, has been appointed senior vice president. He is responsible for Corporate Finance & Accounting, and the Specialty Polymers & Waxes businesses. In addition, as part of the North American alignment, Benz will have administrative responsibility for the corporation's Canadian businesses and Celanese Mexicana.
 Karl E. Engels has been appointed senior vice president. He will have responsibility for the Chemical Group and Corporate Administration.
 The membership of Hoechst Celanese's Executive Committee will remain the same. The members are Drew, Kennedy, Patterson, Benz, Engels and Hubert H. Huckel, M.D., group president, Life Sciences, who will report to Patterson.
 Hoechst Celanese Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoechst AG of Germany. Hoechst Celanese has leading positions in chemicals, fibers, advanced materials and technologies and the life sciences.
