HOCKETT ELECTED PRESIDENT OF CHESAPEAKE CONSUMER PRODUCTS COMPANY

 RICHMOND, Va., April 19, /PRNewswire/ -- Paul Dresser, chief operating officer of Chesapeake Corporation (NYSE: CSK), announced today the election of Vincent W. Hockett as president of Chesapeake Consumer Products Company (CCPC). Hockett succeeds Bill Raaths who, after five years as CCPC's president, has been elected to executive vice president of Wisconsin Tissue Mills Inc. Hockett will report to Dresser and assumes his responsibilities immediately.
 Commenting on this change, Raaths said, "Vince brings a solid understanding of the retail marketplace and of the overall growth plans of Chesapeake. He joins a very good management team already in place at CCPC. The dedicated employees and the fine customers of CCPC will be well served in the future."
 Dresser added, "I'm proud of the progress this company has made and pleased with the new customer opportunities that are unfolding. Vince Hockett is a talented and enthusiastic leader, and I am confident that Chesapeake Consumer Products Company will continue its rapid growth by creatively serving the needs of our customers."
 Hockett has been a Chesapeake employee since 1989. He has held positions in Chesapeake's corporate planning department, with CCPC's St. Louis division, and most recently as Wisconsin Tissue's director of marketing. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
 Chesapeake Consumer Products Company manufactures and distributes decorative tableware products for retail markets. Chesapeake Corporation is a Richmond, Va., based paper and packaging company. Chesapeake's primary businesses are tissue and kraft paper products and packaging. Other businesses include consumer tissue products, land development and building products.
