 HOAG HOSPITAL ELECTS NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
 NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Albert J. Auer,


president of Albert J. Auer & Associates Inc., has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. Auer fills the seat previously held by Guy K. Claire, former senior partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, who led the board from 1986.
 Auer has served on the hospital board since 1969 and has been a member of the George Hoag Family Foundation since 1974. He was also a founding member of the hospital's 552 Club since 1967.
 A resident of Newport Beach with his wife, Lin, and three children, Auer has a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor of science from Ohio University. Auer formed his firm Albert J. Auer & Associates Inc. which specializes in the development of office buildings, shopping centers and business parks in 1977, after working with the Irvine Co. as the vice president of the Commercial/Recreation Department.
 The board of directors also announced a new slate of officers. The new officers include L. George Elias, vice chairman, retired project manager for McDonnell Douglas; Norman M. Dahl, secretary, retired investment banker from Merrill Lynch; and Charles W. Hester, treasurer, president of Hester Development Co.
 The 21-member board is composed of representatives from the George Hoag Family Foundation, Association of Presbyterian Members, the community-at-large and the medical staff of Hoag Hospital.
