HMV X-SELLS OVER AMAZON; FINANCE.
Byline: Edited by GRAHAM HISCOTT
Bumper sales of tenth X-Men movie Logan helped HMV keep ahead of Amazon as Britain's biggest DVD seller and Blu-ray seller.
The chain's video market share jumped from 16.5% to 22.5% in the three months to late September, while Amazon stayed on 20.2%, said number crunchers Kantar Worldpanel.
The bounceback comes four years after HMV was bought out of administration by restructuring firm Hilco.
Amazon retains top spot for the wider physical entertainment market. A leap in video games sales saw the market, which also includes CDs, grow for the first time in three years, up 2.2%.
