HMS AWARDED CONTRACT BY OHIO DEPT OF JOB & FAMILY SERVICES.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services received approval from the Ohio Controlling Board to award a two-year contract to the Arkansas Medical Support Services Consortium (MSSC) administered by Health Management Systems, Inc. (HMS). As the vendor to the nation's only medical support consortium, HMS will link commercial insurance coverage for child support dependents to their non-custodial and custodial parents.

HMS is the designated administrator for the MSSC, a contracting mechanism where by child support agencies nationwide can obtain medical support services at competitive prices. By utilizing HMS's national database of over 500 million records, MSSC participants increase their opportunity to identify and verify health insurance for IV-D dependents.

Federal regulations and state laws require IV-D agencies to obtain, maintain, and enforce medical child support orders. These children may currently be enrolled in Public Assistance and Medicaid programs. HMS's services identify children who have access to private healthcare coverage through a non-custodial or custodial parent or other resource. These types of medical support tasks are often time-consuming and can strain state budgets and resources.

"HMS looks forward to strengthening its collaborative and productive relationship with the Department of Job and Family Services," said Sean Curtin, senior vice president of IV-D Services for HMS. "HMS helps government agencies save money, manage data, and operate efficiently to improve services to those served by the child support program."

Health Management Systems (HMS) is the nation's leader in cost containment, coordination of benefits, and program integrity services for government healthcare programs. In addition to child support agencies and SCHIP programs, HMS serves the Medicaid programs of 40 states and 58+ Medicaid managed care plans. In 2006 alone, HMS recovered more than $1.0 billion from third parties and other funding sources for its clients, and provided data that assisted them in saving several billions more. HMS is a wholly owned subsidiary of HMS Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ:HMSY) , which is headquartered in New York and operates offices nationwide.
