HM King Mohammed VI launched, on Friday in the rural commune of El Menzeh (near Rabat), the construction works of the Rabat-Sale highway bypass, to be completed for a total cost of 2.8 billion dirhams. The 41-kim highway will link the highways of Rabat-Tangier, Rabat-Agadir and Rabat-Oujda.

- The project will notably help ease the traffic flow of heavy trucks.

On this occasion, details were given to the Sovereign on the project which aims to build a 41km highway linking the highways of Rabat-Tangier, Rabat-Agadir and Rabat-Oujda.

Designed to ease the traffic flow notably for heavy trucks, the project will yield economic results benefiting the Rabat and Sale areas and will help save time and reduce transportation costs.

The highway, to be ready by 2013, is part of the implementation of a programme contract signed in 2008 between the State and Morocco's national highway company.
