Bahrain does not deserve defacing of its beautiful image nor distortion of its history or civilisation which stand on the foundations of amity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
In order for Bahrain to remain always first and foremost for every one of its citizens according to the vision of His Majesty the King, all of us should really and actually practice the principle of peaceful co-existence and acceptance of the "other". We should delete from our mental lexicon words that bespeak of selfish desires, obsessions, cancellation of others or inciting of sectarian hatred. Positive change should be begun by all community forces, activists, politicians, religious leaders, thinkers and the media and by shouldering the full responsibility of protecting the ongoing democratization and reform processes and freedoms led by His Majesty the King reliant upon the provisions of Bahrain's Constitution and the National Action Charter, Al-Ayam added.
Al-Ayam urged religious orators to bear the responsibility of preaching the true and correct doctrine of Islam that promotes peace, tolerance, moderation, acceptance of the other and to learn from Islam the principles of tolerance and shunning of hatred and violence.
Al-Ayam urged all political forces to renounce hostile, provocative discourse and to shun the instigation of hatred, violence, politicking of religious pulpits in whatsoever manner and to follow logical rationale, urbane etiquettes and ethical manners of political and national action. Bahrain has never been a country which embraces only one party or sect or that excludes another party or sect. This is the truth which everybody should heed and comprehend, the local daily newspaper concluded. (IY)
