HL Display AB reports decline in sales and earnings.

NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-13 June 2003-HL Display AB reports decline in sales and earnings(C)1994-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Swedish in-store displays maker HL Display AB issued its report for the period January-May on Friday (13 June), posting net sales of SEK476m, as compared to SEK488m in the corresponding period a year earlier.

The operating profit declined from SEK35m in January-May 2002 to SEK10m in the same period this year.

"The recovery that was noticed in the month of March proved to be temporary. The wait-and-see approach experienced in the British market is now also characterising activity in France. Larger active projects with several of the group's most important customers have been delayed. As in 2002 sales in Germany are weak and the Benelux-countries maintain the same level of sales as last year," HL Display said.

One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.08 British pounds (GBP).
